REFUND & RETURN POLICY
At Miniature Cattle & Animal Farm, we sell live animals rather than ordinary retail merchandise. Each animal requires individual care, preparation, veterinary attention, health documentation, scheduling, and transportation arrangements.
Our refund policy is therefore designed specifically for live-animal reservations and purchases.
1. 30% Reservation Deposit
A 30% deposit is required to reserve an animal, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Once the deposit is received, the animal is reserved specifically for the buyer and may be removed from active availability.
The reservation deposit allows our farm to begin preparing the animal for its new home, including applicable:
- Health preparation
- Veterinary care
- Health checks
- Testing
- Registration paperwork
- Health records
- Identification
- Transportation arrangements
- Required documentation
- Pickup scheduling
2. Cancellation Before Pickup or Delivery
If a buyer decides to cancel the purchase before the animal has been picked up or delivered, the buyer is eligible to receive 90% of the reservation deposit back.
The remaining 10% of the deposit is retained by Miniature Cattle & Animal Farm as a reservation and preparation fee.
Example
If an animal is purchased for $5,000:
30% deposit: $1,500
If the buyer cancels before pickup:
90% refunded: $1,350
10% retained: $150
The 10% retained portion compensates the farm for removing the animal from active availability and beginning the preparation process.
3. How Cancellations Must Be Made
Cancellation requests should be submitted in writing by: Email: [INSERT EMAIL]
The cancellation date will be based on the date the written cancellation request is received. Refunds will be processed using the applicable payment method or another mutually agreed method.
4. Cancellation After Pickup or Delivery
There are no refunds or returns after the animal has been picked up or delivered.
Once the animal leaves our farm with the buyer or the buyer’s authorized transportation provider, the purchase is considered completed.
Because animals are living beings and their health can be affected by transportation, environment, nutrition, handling, exposure, and other conditions after transfer, live animals cannot be returned as ordinary merchandise.
This policy is subject to the applicable written Health Guarantee.
5. Health Records and Documentation
We take the health and preparation of every animal seriously.
Applicable health records and documentation will be provided to the buyer as part of the delivery or pickup process.
Depending on the species and individual animal, documentation may include:
- Vaccination records
- Veterinary records
- Health records
- Testing records
- Registration documents
- Identification information
- Health certificates or certificates of veterinary inspection when applicable
- Transportation documentation
- Other applicable animal records
The exact documentation provided will depend on the animal, its registration status, destination, and applicable requirements.
6. Transportation Buyers
If you choose to have your animal transported rather than picking it up at our farm, we will coordinate the applicable records and documentation for the animal’s transportation.
When the animal is delivered, the buyer will receive the applicable health records and other available sale documentation associated with the animal.
The buyer should inspect the animal upon delivery and contact us promptly if there is a significant concern.
7. Transportation Costs
Transportation charges are separate from the animal’s purchase price unless specifically stated otherwise.
Transportation costs may be affected by:
- Distance
- Destination
- Animal species
- Number of animals
- Transportation provider
- Route
- Timing
- Veterinary requirements
- State requirements
Transportation fees may be subject to the cancellation policy of the transportation provider.
8. Health Guarantee
Our Health Guarantee is separate from our general refund policy.
Applicable animals are sold with a written Health Guarantee covering the specific conditions and time periods stated in the applicable agreement.
The Health Guarantee does not provide a general right to return an animal because the buyer changes their mind or because the animal does not meet an expectation that was not specifically guaranteed in writing.
9. Conditions Not Covered
Unless specifically stated in the written Health Guarantee, we are not responsible for conditions resulting from events after transfer, including:
- Injury
- Improper nutrition
- Improper housing
- Unsafe fencing
- Buyer neglect
- Inadequate water
- Improper handling
- Environmental conditions
- Transportation arranged by the buyer
- Failure to follow veterinary recommendations
- Introduction into an existing herd or group without appropriate biosecurity
- Other conditions occurring after transfer
10. Seller Cancellation
If Miniature Cattle & Animal Farm must cancel a sale before pickup or delivery because the animal becomes medically unsuitable for sale, dies, or circumstances prevent us from completing the transaction, we will contact the buyer and determine an appropriate resolution.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- Applying the deposit toward another suitable animal; or
- Providing a refund of the deposit
11. No Refund After Transfer
Once the animal has been picked up by the buyer or delivered to the buyer or the buyer’s authorized transporter:
The sale is final and no purchase-price refund or return is available, except as specifically provided under the applicable written Health Guarantee or required by law.
12. Questions Before Reserving
We encourage every buyer to ask questions before placing a deposit.
Our goal is to make sure you understand the animal’s health records, care requirements, size, temperament, registration status, transportation arrangements, and other important information before completing your purchase.
